The European Union and the Western Balkan states representatives confirmed their participation in two parallel sessions of the Civil Society Forum Trieste on July 12. They will meet civil society representatives at the Policy Discussion organised in the framework of the Western Balkans Summit and participate in the recording of special edition of “Vicinities” TV show.
The civil society representatives will meet the Italian Minster of Foreign Affairs, Angelino Alfano, the European Commissioner of European Neighbourd Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, as well as Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro, Ditmir Bushati, Nikola Dimitrov and Srđan Darmanović to discuss the Civil Society Forum policy recommendations on the priority topics of the intergovernmental Summit: regional cooperation and bilateral relations, rule of law and fight against corruption, youth cooperation, improvement of business climate for innovative enterprises, environment and climate change, and more efficient communications of the Berlin process.
Key speakers of the “Vicinities” TV show are the Prime Ministers of Macedonia and Albania, Zoran Zaev and Edi Rama, Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, and Goran Svilanovic, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council. The goal of this regional television project is to foster reconciliation, promote better understanding among people and contribute to the freedom of expression in the Balkans.
The Civil Society Forum will take place on July 11-12 with the goal to elaborate policy solutions and to recommend actions in response to the key challenges faced by the region.
